The Art of Ray Moore

Ray Moore's Devil

Some of the people I have discussed Ray Moore's art with have suggested that the changes in style may represent the beginnings of Wilson McCoy's influence over the artwork. While this is quite possible, I have yet to see any actual proof that this is the case. Having said this, it has to be recognised that the length of time that Wilson drew the strip "uncredited" makes it very difficult to be absolutely sure exactly when Moore finished and McCoy started things, who helped who with the work and whose ideas had influence over what! Most of the people who could have given us the answers to these questions are long dead, and from what I have read from several sources, Lee had most of his attention turned toward what was happening in those great early scripts.
